I just wanted to drop you a line and say, thank you so much for your help. I was really at the end of my rope when I called your company in April. I didn’t know how I was EVER going to get out from under the incredible debt that I so foolishly got myself into. I can’t say enough about how wonderful my experience has been. When I started this program, I had 13 credit cards which were maxed out and being paid late. My husband and I had really gotten in over our heads, one of our credit card companies gave us Novadebt’s name and we called. The counselor was so wonderful and did not make us feel like we were losers because we were in debt. She was great and we have been with the company almost four years now. We have paid off almost all of our debt and will be debt free soon. We could have never done this alone. The material that we get in the mail about money management is so helpful. This program was a lifeline for me. I was utterly overwhelmed by expenses. My financial situation was brought on by depression. Spending was my “drug”so to speak. It helped me to get through some rough times. I was addicted to the relief it offered, although temporary. When I at last received psychological counseling and was able to at last stop the spending, I was already in way over my head. I dreaded the ringing of the phone because it so often was creditors wanting me to send money I didn’t have. The only think I could manage was the minimum payments. That in itself was a hardship. I was headed for the poor house without doubt.
A dear friend of mine told me about a program he got into which was of tremendous
help getting his finances under control. I followed his lead and found Garden
State Consumer Credit Counseling (now called Novadebt). In all seriousness, it
saved my life. The stress of all of the debt was at times just too much to carry.
Now I have one monthly payment. I get no calls from debt collector. I can see
the light at the end of the tunnel. I was told it would take about 5 years to
pay my debts off when I signed on to this service. That seems to hold true.
I am indeed forever grateful to have found this help. I never had to declare
bankruptcy and I can stand on my own. That is a wonderful feeling!
